Apologies for the long slumber… Was a bit busy with the shit load of bugs that keep popping up before the release at the beach house and was going nuts with trying to memorize all that EJB stuff for the J2EE exam…

It would have been a sin not to post a blog about the lovie dovie month of February. Even though we have come to the end of the month thought of penning down some words about it from a male perspective. Considering the fact that the Valentines Day is a great opportunity to dissect the incongruous human behavior when it comes to that sweet four letter word called LOVE.

For the mediocre male homo sapien the 14^th day of February would be just another day… Yet for those Casanovas hell bent on impressing upon their lady friends their true and undying LOVE, it is another story.

Rather than criticizing the pandemic behavior which takes place during this day, I’d like to explore what might attribute to such behavior especially in a country like SL.

So what does make us lose all reason when it comes to LOVE? I have seen some discussions on the tube recently about some pundits trying to connect this word to sexual desire and trying to paint the young as a hallucinated generation of drug addicts and sex workers. WTF?

I might not agree on how some people celebrate Valentines Day or maybe even the fact the need to dedicate a special day to do that. Yet trying to define an emotion by the acts of a few should be condemned. It is these kinds of twisted interpretation that lead to what everyone terms as the cultural divide.

My view on the matter is somewhat undefined. After all the observations and conversations I’ve had with my friends and by my own experiences, I find it difficult and uncomfortable to find a reason to why we behave like total idiots to impress women we are in love with. Is it sheer stupidity?

Maybe the reasons are seen as primal in nature, yet it seems to be mixed with the cravings of the human to seek affection and companionship.
